Symptoms of cancer

Most cancers develop over many years and symptoms are often very similar to common illness such as infections.  A change in how your body feels or a change you can see on your skin, might be an indication of illness or something that is wrong with your body.

That is your cue to make an appointment with your doctor to let them investigate what could be the problem.

See your doctor immediately if you notice body changes such as :

•    Unexplained weight loss

•    Continued fatigue and weakness

•    Loss of appetite

•    Bloating, indigestion or problems with swallowing

•    Lumps, sores or ulcers that bleed or won't heal

•    Bruising easily

•    Chills or fever

•    Headaches

•    Back or pelvic pain

•    Blood in a bowel motion

•    Persistent changes in toilet routine.

•    changes in breasts (for men and women) such as lumps, thickened areas, nipple discharge, a nipple that changes to turn inwards, a change in shape or colour or unusual pain

•    Continually hoarse voice

•    A cough that won’t go away or if you are coughing blood

•    Unusual loss of blood between periods or unusually heavy periods

•    Changed shape, size or colour of moles or if they bleed
